Voodoo Rotating Assemblies are based around Voodoo Crankshafts, forged connecting rods and other related components that provide premium quality along with affordability. The 4340 non-twist forged Voodoo Crankshaft is the perfect choice for your street/strip application. Each Voodoo Crankshaft is nitride heat treated with micropolished journals to add durability and strength, while lightening holes in the rod journals reduce crankshaft inertia weight for faster acceleration and ease of balancing. Also included in Voodoo Rotating Assemblies are Voodoo H-Beam Connecting Rods that are all strength and quality tested through a variety of processes that include stress-relieving, shot-peening and magnafluxing. Stress relieving heats metals to a certain temperature and then allows them to cool in still air. This helps with the removal of negative residual stresses from the metal. Shot peening is a process by which small metallic particles are used to impact the surface of the material being used in a part’s construction. It creates compressive residual stresses on that surface, which can then longer withstand the stresses applied to the rod. The lifespan of the part is thereby increased. Finally, magnafluxing, also known as magnetic particle testing, runs a magnetic particle filled fluid over and through metal parts. The magnetic particles attach to any flaws or fissures in the material and magnifies them so that it can be identified and removed from use if necessary.
